Configuration Settings
This tab deals with generic options that apply to searchmonkey.
| Global settings (tab 1) | Description |

| Force single window mode | Stops multiple instances of the searchmonkey binary, instead opens up tabbed searches. |
| Use extended regular expressions | Allows use of brackets, etc., to do advanced searches |
| Prompt before saving state | Makes searchmonkey prompt before any changes are saved to the configuration file |
| Prompt before deleting items | Makes serachmonkey prompt before files are deleted from the hard disk |
| Match strings within binary files | Allows searchmonkey to find text matches within binary files too |
| System Calls (tab 2) | Description |
| Default Text editor | Force searchmonkey to use this binary as a text editor (%f is replaced with filename) |
| Default Folder explorer | Forces searchmonkey to use this binary as a directory browser (%d is replaced with directory name) |
| Default Web Browser | Forces searchmonkey to use this binary as a web browser (%f is replaced with filename) |

| Results Format | Drop down list with all of the export formats, e.g. Comma Separated Values (CSV) |
| End or Row Separator | CSV specific symbol for end-of-row charactor, normally set to new-line. |
| Value/Field Separator | CSV specific symbol for inter-values, normally set to comma for true CSV. |
| System (tab 4) | Description |
| Remove all saved settings | Deletes the current saved settings - causes searchmonkey to shutdown immediately. |
| Current Config Location | Location of the current users saved settings ini file (for info only). |
| Save settings immediately | Forces the settings to be saved immediately, normally only performed at shutdown. |
